ACIIA Vice President I

Ian is the 2025 - 2026 Vice President 1 of the Asian Confederation of Institutes of Internal Auditors, where he previously held other Executive Committee positions. He was the 2018 Chairman and President of the Institute of Internal Auditors Philippines. He is currently a member of the global Committee of Research and Education Advisors of the Internal Audit Foundation and is a Board member of the Global Audit Committee Center of the Institute of Internal Auditors.​

Ian is a partner at SyCip Gorres Velayo & Co./EY Philippines and is also its Risk Consulting Leader.  He is currently the EY Asean Core Consulting Quality Leader. He is a recognized specialist in internal audit, internal controls, enterprise risk management, compliance management, corporate governance, and sustainability reporting.​

Ian graduated cum laude from the University of Santo Tomas in 1996 with a degree in Accountancy. He is a Certified Public Accountant, an ASEAN Chartered Professional Accountant, a Certified Internal Auditor, a Certified Fraud Examiner, an Accredited Internal Audit Quality Assessor, a Certified Sustainability Reporting Specialist, a Certified Sustainability Reporting Assurer, and has a certification in Risk Management Assurance. He attended the Executive Development Program and Corporate Governance: Maximize Your Effectiveness in the Boardroom Program in May 2013 and June 2024, respectively, at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
